Toy Safety
Amigurumi made from our patterns are handmade items and are not tested to any toy safety standard. Please keep the following in mind:
- Small parts: safety eyes, buttons, beads, bells, and plastic noses can come loose and are a choking hazard. For babies and children under 3, embroider eyes and facial features with yarn instead.
- Keychains and ornaments: metal rings, clips, and hanging loops are not safe for young children.
- Secure construction: sew all pieces on firmly, weave in all ends, and check finished toys regularly for loose stitches, parts, or stuffing.
- Supervision: handmade toys should be used under adult supervision. Stop using any toy that shows wear or damage.
- Materials: choose yarn and stuffing suited to the person receiving the toy, and follow the washing guidance on your materials.
If you plan to sell toys made from our patterns, you are responsible for meeting the toy safety laws and labeling rules in your country (for example CPSIA in the US or UKCA/CE marking in the UK and EU).
